The Primary Objective is to Ensure Optimal Health and Development From Birth Through Adulthood.
Key components of this module include disease prevention strategies to protect young animals from common illnesses, and rigorous sanitation practices to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
Nutrition is another critical aspect, ensuring that calves and heifers receive balanced diets tailored to their growth needs, promoting robust development and overall health.
By participating in this module, Fellows will gain expertise in gestational needs, calving conditions, besides raising calves and heifers with a focus on disease prevention, proper nutrition, and effective breeding practices.
They will learn to manage the growth and development of young dairy cattle efficiently, ensuring their smooth transition into productive adult cows. This knowledge will contribute to the long-term success and sustainability of the dairy operation.
