MBA education at Chicago Booth is grounded in the Chicago approach: an enduring, multidisciplinary framework–taught by the world’s best business school faculty–that empowers graduates to turn business challenges into opportunities, in any industry, anywhere in the world.
Chicago Booth Executive MBA Program Structure
The Chicago Booth Executive MBA program is a 21-month, seven quarter program with campuses in Chicago, London, and Hong Kong.
While students have a “home campus,” there is also ample opportunity for students to interact with their global classmates. In their first quarter, all 240+ students spend a week in Chicago, and then students attend international session weeks in London and Hong Kong. In the summer quarter, halfway through the program, all students convene in Chicago for two weeks of electives.
During local quarters in Chicago, classes meet over Thursday, Friday, and Saturday sessions, four times per quarter.
The Chicago Booth Executive MBA Curriculum
The Chicago Booth Executive MBA curriculum is grounded in three foundations classes: Microeconomics, Statistics, and Financial Accounting.
These classes draw on fundamental social and behavioral science and quantitative skills and help students learn to think better, with more rigor, in any situation.
After mastering these foundations, students take classes which apply these foundations to the functions of business: finance, marketing, and operations.
A strategic approach is honed through courses in management, leadership, and the business environment which expand upon this knowledge of business foundations and functions.
Four elective classes allow students to dig deeper into any of these areas, and then at the end of the program, students select an integrative offering where they explore building a new venture or participate in a business simulation.
Throughout the Executive MBA Program, students will take LEAD. (Leadership Exploration & Development), a course which integrates executive career and leadership development to complement academic classes.
