Douglas J. Reinemann, PhD
Professor of Biological Systems Engineering at University of Wisconsin- Madison
Professor Reinemann joined the faculty of the University of Wisconsin Department of Biological Systems Engineering Department in 1990 and holds affiliate appointments in the Dairy Science department, Institute for Environmental studies, and the Agroecology program. Doug served as Chairman of the biological systems engineering department from 2013 to 2017 and was appointed Associate Dean for Extension and Outreach in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences in 2018.
Dr. Reinemann has directed the activities of the UW Milking Research and Instruction lab since 1990. He is a longtime member and frequent chair of the International Dairy Federation’s working group on machine milking, and the machine milking committees of the ASABE and the NMC. His work with national and international experts has been focused on the development of machine milking performance testing, milking management and the adoption of automatic milking systems. Doug’s research interests also include rural energy issues, renewable energy systems, sustainable biofuel production, integral ecology, and stray voltage.
